Does Timing affect Profits with Crypto Events?

I've always wondered what people thought about promotional events relating to crypto especially during festivals that are time limited.

One of my mate was talking to me about the Diwali trading competition by Bitget that apparently has a $25,000 prize pool for campaigns for new sign-ups, trading volume etc.

I also saw one for Halloween, and I'd like to know if the timing of events like these is mostly for exposure and if the profit potential is usually very good.

I don't have anything against crypto trading but it is a classic case of exchanges trying to get people hooked/ addicted to buy/ sell cryptocurrencies as much as possible.

All I could say is that times like this one could earn from such events. My experience on the aforementioned platform was a good one tho I can't participate in it taking cognizance of the region but would love to opt for the latter event where I get unravel my rewards in mystery box(es).
