Does TikTok shadowban for buying comments?

If I start buying 100s of likes and comments for my videos from smm panels etc, TikTok will obviously know that its fake engagement.

Question is, will TikTok punish my account in any way for this, will they shadowban or stop distributing my content as much, etc?

I wanted to test where is the limit once and I bought 10k views, after 3k - instant account ban
So they know you are buying ;)

Yeah, thats pretty much the question. I dont except to be fooling anybody, but curious how much action they will take in response. Instagram I can get away with virtually anything but tiktok I am new to

On TikTok it's just not working on the end. They are not counting views, likes, comments or any engagement from outside testing group.
They are giving your video to 600-1000 random userbase and engagement must came from these users. Buying outside is not working to boost videos. It can only harm your account.

If you are buying, I would stick only to get buy 1000 followers to unlock link in bio, anything else on TikTok is pointless

Generally I use comments not for engagement, but for social proof. If there is an active discussion for example, with 100 (albeit fake) comments, real users are 10x more likely to engage and join the conversation. They are also 2-3x more likely to avoid skipping the video, for the sole reason that it is "not popular enough". This strategy is tried and tested by me and my team on instagram and its rock solid.

However, Im learning more about TikTok and from what Ive read so far, there will be more harm done to the account than good from this approach.

It can be done, but with lower numbers than 100 / video and only for established videos.
If video is getting views, more than 5000-10 000 you can check, because you are after few algorithm tiers and it will be less suspicious.
For videos that not crossed 1000 views, I would not try no matter what

Thanks a lot for the insight, we got a lot of videos that are hitting very good view numbers organically, just low comments and saves, so what we'll do is leave that for now but make some separate accounts with content specifically meant to engage discussion and test out the social proofing there.

Will update everyone on the results!

Yes, your account could get banned for buying fake likes or comments. Don't buy too many, and drip-feed it slowly.
