Does tik tok count your own views?

Hi, I am new to tiktok and have been noticing there are many people complaining that their videos get zero views, or views are not getting updated though they are getting comments and likes.

I just published my first video on private and would like to test out if the view count is working properly on my account. Can anyone advise if tiktok will record one view if you view your own video (whether it is privately published or publicly published)?
