So I was thinking about creating a WP blog centered around a particular niche. I was going to do some keyword research and come up with a few hundred long-tail keywords for this niche, then have someone write articles. 1 Article for each keyword. Each article would be SEO Optimized for each keyword to maximize SERP results.

That's basically it.

1) Does this basic method still work in 2015 as an effective method to rank in Google's top 10 for Search results for long-tail kw's?

2) Once the articles are written and everything is live, what other advice and tips as far as methods/services can you recommend to maximize SERP exposure?

What else should be SOP in 2015 for getting a blog to rank well within Google?

Please advise =)

..I am also looking into BTB's method for FB Group posting.

As long as those keywords don't have too much competition, it shouldn't be that hard.
Once you are sure the articles are SEO optimized it's a good idea to build some links to them to help them rank.

I tried this method in 2012, and it worked for a period, at least from what i can see.

I think it is still work till now, even next year, but you must be sure, these longtails you try to rank are less competitive or even no competition at all! means, less than 100 or even 50 searches per month, and please note, cant be health niche or such, because its too competitive and you will never ranked your health longtail keywords.

Choose a weird niche, and post quality articles, solid on-site SEO, I think its okay, but with links it will be go further.

Choose a weird niche, and post quality articles

This is exactly what I am seeing. Recently I started 2 blogs, both with very good content, one in niche that is quite popular now and one in niche that is borderline trash (!) for people who are outside of it. The engagement is of course much bigger in the niche 2 since there is some sort of community around it.

I don't see why it should not work. IF the competition is low and your articles are unique you could easily rank for most of your long tail kw. Probably, you won't even need any off-site SEO.

Can anyone refer me to someone or a service that can write decent quality articles, for a reasonable price, who also happens to have a working knowledge of SEO KW Optimization?

Long tail keyword targeting still works, yes, but also make sure to do some competition research beforehand.

Basic methods like keyword research and long tail keywords are still works good. They gave a great result.

Its not a unique technique but this method is not penalized yet from Google, so no problem in following this method to get ranking

In 2016 i will go it with too........

It's still work well. In 2016 , We do not know what google thinking :)

You will good backlink from authority sites because google will not let you get high traffic until you are a authority site in the eye of google.

1) This depends very much on the niche you are in..but you will not rank #1 with a brand new domain with just some articles on it...unless the competition is really weak or non-existent.

2) You need to work on the authority of your website. Get into social networks, communities, forums, do a HQ press release, get some strong backlinks to the homepage and for some inner pages too..don't optimize every single article for SEO,..................this should keep you busy for the start.
