Does this site have monetizing potential?

    I have a website

An autoblog, but I'm interested in dogs, so it's a fun site to have. Now, clearly, as I've read all about it keywords here, the keyword "Dog Health" offers tremendous competition.

So, I guess I just wonder if it has any potential? Is SEO possible with something so vague? Am I being stupid with my ads? Maybe I should put up some CB affiliate links? The traffic is awful. 6 visits a day on average. I know SEO is a good way to start, but how can I make it SEO friendly with such a generic term? I'm indexed pretty well, but I'm not sure how to make the site aim for one specific key phrase that has lower competition than "dog health".

I suppose the problem is that I took action, but lacked any direction.

The site maybe makes a dollar per week off adsense.

I'm not really concerned about what it makes, I'm an AC kid anyways :p
However, it would certainly be lovely if the site were monetized (more than $1/week, that is)

Is there any potential for my website? Or am I best off reading more methods and trying something completely different?

I know that asking questions here is a fantastic privelege and I thank anyone who offers up any of their time to help me. Thank you.
