Does this look like a penalty

Were the blogcomments directly to your money site or to the first or second tier?

Well, manual blog comments (low OBL blogs) directly to my money site.

I scrapeboxed my tiered links;; never my money site. :(

Too bad you don't have it on WMT to see if you received a message about unnatural links. This message has being going around a lot lately with very similar across the board penalties like you are witnessing.

If you did indeed fall into the unnatural link message category, then it doesn't appear to be a penalty, but a loss of all that link juice thats ranking you as high as you were. So it looks like a penalty when in reality it's just Google resetting your unnatural links to zero.

Because your site is only 4 months old, there is a chance it could just be a site wide dance.

Time will tell though thats for sure.

Thanks man. Yeah, I should have had my site added to GWT. Oh well, too late.

That seems like a reasonable explanation. Weird though, because I was careful to maintain a very steady link velocity.

Could you show me a sample of the unnatural link message please?

@The OP, How many blog comments did you make to the money site? Were they all with targeted keywords as anchor texts?

This sounds like some of the juice you thought was there is no longer. Have you checked your back links. Are they still there?

In the past month or two, some private blog posts, web 2.0's, article submissions, blog commenting, etc.. A few reputable services around the forum. This blows. :yell:

Noticed that one of my sites is dropping slowly in the rankings...this sucks! :D makes me feel vulnurable!

5 keywords, one is sticking but others has dropped again today 1-2 places down... Dont know what to do... should buy SB blast for my existing links to renew their link juice.

I wish I could give you a good opinion. But, I have had a site that has been on the bottom of page 1 for about two months now. It got dropped from #2 and just doesn't want to come back, despite a lot of great backlinks and very good updated content.

I don't know about your site specifically but I think it could be one of those time filters like 1, 2 or 3 months. I will post back here if my site comes back after a two month time out penalty. If it happens, it should be in a few days.

I was commenting to around 10 - 20 blogs a day. I was also mixing up the anchor text to keep it natural.

Actually, all the links I had bought were permanent links. I have tons of links pointing to this site; around 9500 I believe. So even if some had been removed, I don't think the drop should have been this drastic.

Let us know how it turns out.

Thanks bro. Let us know. Hopefully my site bounces back as well. I spent quite a bit of money on this site.

Just a quick update. A few keywords have started to move up, just a few spots. Honestly, like I said, the weirdest part about this is how my site has been shuffled. ALL my keywords that were ranking for their correct pages, are not ranking for COMPLETELY unrelated pages. I tried to read around a bit last night, but couldn't find what the cause of this is.

For example, I have a page like "site.com/jobs-in-illinois", and it is ranking for the keyword "jobs in michigan". So weird.

Didn't you know? Google failed geography!

Lmao. Google fails at everything. Google fails at LIFE :D

Hey bro, I'll be on MSN shortly. If you're on, we can chat. I'm just about to buy AMR (looking to see if there any discounts at the moment).

How's the private network you bought links on holding up?

If that got devalued then it could be the cause.

So, luckily, the site is still making $10+ a day..somehow. I have no idea haha.

Anyways, the rankings have been jumping around a lot. I cleaned up my indexed pages..I had a lot of crappy pages indexed (my wp-includes folder was indexed, and some other folders like that).

At this point, any suggestions? Should I just started adding content like crazy? If so, how much content would you add per day? I have around 52 pages indexed in Google (all rich, quality content).

This month I have seen 2 pandas, one on the 5th and one on around the 14th. So at least you can cross out panda, your worst possibility really. Can be a dance, I have seen dance where all keywords dropped, took about a month to get back. I would file a reconsideration request to see if there is a manual action (make up some BS). If they say there is no manual action you are just dancing and can wait it out.
