I'm looking on Godaddy auction and this site is getting high bids for a website with almost zero backlinks.

Did a page rank check and it has a page rank of 6. How is this done?

Nope it's fake PR.

This is a decent real/fake PR checker:
www.seomastering.com/fake-pagerank-checker.php

Or just: info:brentburns8.com and note the details of the site showing from the info search. In this example see the auction domain is pointing to: brentburns88.com

As you're already doing, it's really wise to check out the backlinks and all link structure.
