From my understanding, it is US law that a business cannot incentivize a positive review by offering a discount or free item. (I've seen many people break this... I'm looking at you local barber)
However, is it wrong/illegal to incentivize ALL reviews? Both positive and negative reviews will receive the same promotional items.
I would use a review funnel that pre-screens the people for positive or negative experiences, where the positive experiences will be prompted to leave their review on a review site, and the negative experiences will be prompted to send an email. At the end of the funnel, they will both receive an incentive.
If this is unlawful or bad business practice, what other clever alternatives have you all used?
