An article posted on web2.0 with no link on it whatsoever but having my youtube video as related video on same page .
will that youtube video be getting 1 backlink by doing this ?

If your video is enbed it's not a backlink, but embeding videos is a strong signal for youtube ranikings

By definition, crawler will consider 'something' as backlink if its between <a> and </a> html tags. Otherwise, it's not consider backlinks.
Nowadays social activity also has values more than just backlinks.

It is called an embed and unfortunately it is not a backlink.

It shows up as backlink in ahrefs

When you create some javascript which leads to a target site, not using A ahref, it still used to show as a backlink when you searched link: on google.

I think embedding a videos counts as a citation, though not as a link but as a signal that that video is related to whatever is on that page.

No its doesn't count as backlink, but it is better than backlink value. As this way your video will get some ranking benefit according to youtube factor.
