Does this redirection link count as Backlink?

http://ezproxy.cityu.edu.hk/login?url=https://abc.xyz/yoo
Because:

This is not backlink because it does not exists.

It is used by scammers to scam newbies by selling DA increase services, or fake their own PBN domains metric.

If the google crawler visits this error page, it should recognize this html link or not?
Yeah it's actually not a redirect, it's an error page.

I know it's trashy but not even for tier 2/3?
I got a whole list of these, edu/gov from a fiverr (edu backlink gig) dude. Told him to send me a sample report, he send me a list of 300 of these lol.

I haven't bought it. Only asked him for a sample report.

Oh I see. Wow a very clever way, I’m impressed tbh. Yes. It’s technically a backlink if google indexes that page. But as someone else has already pointed out, it’s not that good of a backlink anyway.

technically, yes, it's a link,
some people are using it and getting the pages indexed as well (google site:ezproxy.cityu.edu.hk/login inurl:url),
it's not that good one tho, I wouldn't even bother going with such links, maybe at bulk for tier 2/3

OPPS :P yes, it's a backlink, if you can index it. But a bad backlink. can be used for tier 3 ;)
 
Yes, it's technically a backlink. But it won't pass any value to your site. I used to create them when I was a beginner in SEO but never saw any changes due to these links. You should better avoid them.
