Why not? They are a super power and they have every right to do so.Think of it this way that guy might know a secret or two that you don't want to be shared with allies or enemies it doesn't matter if he is guilty or not the most important thing is to protect your national interest and get him back to your country asap,he can get his trial there if he is even guilty of something. Just because he works for the government doesn't mean that his story aint true.

I'd take USA over Russia or China any day. Even if we ignore the millions of killed dissidents by the latter two, the quality of life in the countries allied with America is at least 10 times better than say North Korea and whoever Russia is currently allied with.

I am not sure about the process, but the guy had a diplomatic visa. As such, he is protected.

If a person in the US from Pakistan had a diplomatic visa (AKA "worked" for the embassy") shot someone all we are supposed to do is send them back to their home country.

Countries have had this system going for a while.

This was not even in cold blood. He was a spy and they were chasing him. They conceded that the guy is a CIA spy so his story of "coming from the supermarket" or whatnot is admitted to be a load of crap.

When I heard about this it sounded like something out of a movie. Seems to me that he was out doing his spy job, got caught, and this was a race through the streets with 2 local spy-nabbers hot on his heels on a motorcycle. Even that robbery story was stupid: if you're in an SUV what can a motorcycle do to you? If it was a robbery he could have shot out the gas tank or wheels. He killed them cause they saw what he did or caught him somewhere he shouldn't have been.

Now, as far as him going free is concerned, the US paid blood money to the families. Like $2.4 million. Legal, official, sanctioned by the judge. That is a perfectly legal out for murder in Pakistan. Why should Pakistanis get to buy off dead people's families, but the US should leave their guy to rot? In the US that would be illegal, getting paid for a murdered relative. But it's not over there. If you don't like it then complain about a system where murderers with cash get off while poor people have to stay in jail.

The whole thing is just a tragedy. And I'd like to know, since the US paid blood money for the 2 guys, what about the wife that killed herself? They should get compensation for her too.
