Does the title lenght matter at all when ranking?

I have read in some blog that ideally you want it below 75, but I have seen videos with near the 100 character limit with millions of views.

Should I sacrifice relevant keywords in the title in exchange of a shorter title, or is it better to keep it as long as necessary and cover all relevant keywords?

I worked hard on a video and I would be pissed off if it ranks worse because I make it too long, or because I replace a keyword with its acronym to make it shorter (for example, instead of having "Street Fighter 2" in the tittle, replacing it with "SF2"

Another interesting thing to look at is when titles cut in the suggested videos. I have noticed that it's about 50 characters when it starts being cut.

What will rank better?

Yes it matters.

It's all about density, just like in the text.

A title "my loans"

Will look overoptimized for my loans.

But "Bartos my loans service"

Will be less dense and looks more natural.
 
If you think size does not matter, look at the size of Charlie Floate's birds forehead.

So in the given example what do you think, would you use the first or the second title? I think everyone knows what SF2 in that context so maybe I don't need to type "Street Fighter 2" and acronyms are enough? But what if im losing the opportunity to show up on suggested videos that contains "Street Fighter" on the title? you know what I mean?
It's like, everyone knows "DBZ" is Dragon Ball Z for example, but if you put "DBZ", you are losing chances of showing up in suggested videos that have "Dragon Ball" on the title... I can't decide with this thing.

Btw my channel got 200k subscribers, so I will have an initial push from the subscribers, the problem is, I have never used keywords of such a niche, so im scared it will rank badly, specially because the tittle is too long, but like I said before I have seen long ass tittles ranking great so... I dont know.

Omg but can somebody comment on my actual example? Let's put things into context. Would you ommit information via an acronym in order to make the title shorter, or would you keep it longer in order to try to rank the full words? thats the KEY here.
 
Yes for sure. The length of the tiltle do mattera lot when it comes to the ranking and the entire SEO works. Make sure always that the title is not that long. What needs to be of concern here is being able to have the keywords in the title. Itwill help alot because the crawlers to make use of the keywords and even the meta data position. That will improve your seo and rankings.
 
In the title try and add a double buble long tail to get the indexing going.

If you use a longer title just use more keywords along with it that should get it to do what you want, yes it works i have tryed it plenty of times, And yes the longer the title the higher you can rank if you do it properly, Also ive had extreme luck with short titles too, i guess at the end of the day it takes a lil bit of luck for things as well.

Search for the top ranking sites in your niche and have a look at how they set up their titles.

About DBZ vs Dragon Ball Z, Google already groups those similar meaning things. Search for LSI.
 
Use a broad name for title and use a good sub h1 for the page title

Example

Title "Super man vs super woman "

H1 "superhero"

Interesting. So you are saying it ranks the same? How can I search if 2 terms rank the same or similar by association?

But the thing is, if use DBZ, I may get suggested in "Dragon Ball Z" videos but not in "Dragon Ball Super" videos for example, but if I use "Dragon Ball" I may get suggested in all of them? "Dragon Ball Z" + "Dragon Ball Super" + "DBZ"

You know what I mean?

Most of the views I get in youtube are through suggested videos so this is key for me

I see plenty of long titles with massive ranking, for example 86 characters and 41 million views

 
If no one has any suggestions I guess I will go with the long title.
 
Too long titles are really visually bad, but if they are made right they can be great, you can combine few keywords (+ longtails) in your title and make it real eyecatcher and they can perform great in Google

So this is 96 characters, almost the 100 limit.

Looks like Youtube does not give a fuck about title lenght to me?
