Does the formatting text matter for seo?

Yes, engines "like" rich elements.

Color and size might influence technical performance and Core Vitals so it matters as well.

It does affect SEO but you have to be careful so you don't over-optimise your pages.

Just focus on offering your visitors the best on-page experience and good formatting will happen naturally.
Don't think too much about how Google see's your content. Focus on writing good content that your visitors will like.
With high engagement comes natural sharing of pages and these signals will increase your rankings.

Well-structured texts have lower bounce rates and higher chances to receive social media attention. This, in itself, leads to higher rankings.

The structure of the texts on your site is important for SEO.

If your content is clearly structured, your chance to rank well in Google will be higher.

Well, I haven't read anywhere that a well formatted text will have a 'direct' impact on your seo performance, but yes, if your sites content is well formatted then it will surely enhance in users experience. The reader will feel it pleasing to consume your content. This in turn should reduce the bounce rate and increase the users stay time. So the benefit will be there.

According to Koray GÜBÜR, it matters.

It's amazing that this thread was created in 2022, and here we are already living in 2026, and this topic is still at the top ;)
There's so much AI garbage out there now that page readability is practically the only thing that saves a website. If you don't have headings, 10-line paragraphs, and no lists, the user will leave in 2 seconds. I've noticed in my projects for a long time: once you get the structure right, the rankings automatically improve. Not because Google sees that it needs another beautiful text to rank high, but because people start reading, scrolling, and clicking links. And the search engine sees all this and assumes that if people find it, the page is fine. So formatting is the father of behavioral factors, and behavioral factors already drive rankings.

Yes, it matters

It also matters for the indexing and of course, well formatted text will be better for the reader to read

Formatting text absolutely matters for SEO, and using proper formatting can significantly improve your page's performance in serch engines.

Not really. Things like text color, font, or size don’t affect SEO rankings. What matters more is the content itself, relevance, keywords, and how it’s structured on the page.

Doesn’t matter. google doesn’t rank pages because of font color or text size. those things matter more for user experience and readability.

Text color and size don't directly impact rankings, but they are critical for user experience, readability, and accessibility signals.

No. Text color, size, or style do not directly affect SEO rankings. Search engines like Google mainly focus on content quality, keywords, backlinks, and site structure. Text formatting is mostly for readability and user experience.

Yes, it does.

Because you have to provide your content in a manner that is helpful to visitor. If the content is not formatted and visitor is confused where the information that he is looking for, Google consider your website not useful.

Formatting helps a bit for readability. Headers and clear structure make pages easier for google to understand.

Color or font size alone wont change rankings much.

It totally matters, it also affects the indexing of the link and if the content doesn't get indexed, what the purpose of it?

I always format my posts properly. it helps to both users and search engines.
