I've been following people in my niche for a few days now and somehow I haven't managed to get any follow-backs!
Perhaps my account is flagged and they don't get the notifications? Or perhaps I'm following the wrong people? (followers of some other account)

You are either:

- Following the wrong users
- Your content is not good
- Your profile need optimization

How many users you are following per day?

Do you have enough content and worthwhile content in your profile?
I have 4 boards with 10-30 pins, but they're mostly repins.

Anyway, I just checked from another account. There notification doesn't appear, nor do I appear in the followers list. Probably shadowbanned or not enough trust.

As far as I know, followers aren't useful on Pinterest.
I've smashed several accounts with 1 million + impressions per month with 100 hundred followers at their best.

It seems like the number of followers is not crucial - as opposed to the number of impressions. To increase the impressions rate, try the following:
- add high-quality hashtags to the pin description (many people follow certain hashtags)
- generate your own content regularly instead of just repinning
- VERY IMPORTANT: every time when you create a new pin with a link to your website, make sure that you have never added this link to your previous pins before. Pinterest algorithms prioritize unique links.

In my opinion, it is working on traffic nor on ranking.

Well, for me it used to work pretty well but now.. not really!

Never worked for me. At least on Pinterest.

You must have followed the wrong people, some people have reached follow limit.

I've personally found that followers on Pinterest don't really matter.

you need to follow the active users for this you should add from recent pins.
