I know having the domain name as one of your keywords help SEO wise, but is it a must? I'm planning on starting a movie streaming website, and I've been sitting here on hours trying to think of a good domain targeting movie streaming users. Would it be okay if I went with something like "www.movieking.com" (not this, but basically a domain that isn't a keyword).

Well, not having a good EMD is a bit of a handicap. But, with a market like movies, it's gonna be hard to find a decent EMD. So, your next best bet would be to get something brandable I guess. However, it also depends on how much SEO you plan on doing. If you are looking for a quick buck and just want something to rank for a few long tail keywords then EMD is best. If you plan on doing a lot of SEO than something short and brandable would be ok I think. After all, you will probably be ranking inner pages anyhow for searches like "watch hangover 2 online" or whatever.

Shot your target to deep page to get many keyword ranked in google. If u just want 1 movie, try emd with on+off page seo. Keep natural.

Can you explain what you mean by brandable? And It's going to be my only project for a couple of months, to see how I scale out, so all SEO efforts will be put onto that one website.

by brandable, i just mean something short and easy to remember.

brandable meas that you r going to build a brand around it

I just sent you a pm, I might be able to help you :)

For example, momoMesh? I see, that sounds good. As I said, I'll dedicate a lot of my effort into this one project and see how it goes. What is the estimated average turn around time for a brandable movie site to start seeing leads?

I just posted this

Maybe it will help..

Thanks for that, I'll surely keep it in mind for other projects. Unfortunately, I've tried it with 3 keywords, and as you said, most *good* EMDs are taken.

Domain name does help when it comes to google but if you plan on going viral through the social medium then something catchy is better. Once you have gone viral through twitter and fb etc, natural backlinks come and the domain name doesn't really matter anymore.
