Does such a forum (setting) exist?

I don't mind reading through how-to/journey threads. In fact, I dig it too much (analysis paralysis). What sucks is having to scroll through pages to find the OP's follow up posts detailing the process amongst all the thanks-alot's or "I-have-a-few-questions-about-this-method's muddying up the clarity of it. How come nobody ever created (or if it exist, uses) a forum that gives option that allows a reader to see only post from the OP. Considering the fact that (s)he will quote the questions/comments of those (s)he decides to respond to, doesn't seem like much would be missed by doing so and for those that say it might, I'd be willing to take that risk to concentrate the main content. Just a thought...

FWIW: I did try the "search within the thread" function, using OP's username for search criteria but that only shows an abbreviated version of each post.

I am not aware of such function either. Yes it can be helpful in certain scenarios. Not sure how much feasible it would be database-wise though ( select columns from posts where poster_id = OP should do it without a problem).

Thanks for putting a term to the phenomenon, dude. Pagination (if my new understanding of what is when referring to the web content context) is what I'm trying to avoid in this pursuit. More like being able to read the thread almost as if all the other post from any other users never occurred. Ah well, a man can dream.
