These types of links still hold SE value and I wouldn't stop using them for link building as you should always aim for link diversity.

digg does hold SEO value, it ranks high for almost everything posted there

Stumbleupon doesnt.

I was under the impression that stumbleupon had more SE value than Digg....everyone's hot favorite seems to be reddit though right?...

I have found that it does help and they do by themselves bring in decent amount of traffic to my sites.

digg is still very usable. I don`t spend much time for building, but it still worked a little bit.

Yes, I think it still has SEO value, especially Digg. Even if they didn't, it's still worth it for the extra traffic from there
