Does Spinning Your Articles Actually Make a Difference for Backlinks?

I know this topic has been discussed far too many times, but I'd like to hear from those of you that actually have some real experience.

If I submit a single article to 50 different blogs only for backlink purposes, will it really make a difference if I were to spin the article first? And by spinning I don't mean just using synonyms, but rewriting sentences as well. I know that spinning the article will give some of my blogs a better chance to rank, but I'm not interested in traffic from the blogs, JUST backlinks. On the other hand, I'm thinking that spinning the article might help prevent google from seeing all those blogs as spam, especially if I'm submitting the same article to 100s or 1000s of blogs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to have a 40 - 60% unique change in your articles if you want it to go un-noticed,
even google is starting to catch on. I suggest just spinning the whole article.
