Does social media marketing even work anymore?

You just follow 20-30 people on Instagram or X, then you get warned, eventually punished or banned or limited somehow...!!!

Bullshit. Does social media marketing shit even work anymore?

I don't get warned nor banned when i follow 20 people on neither of those networks, so the problem is clearly not following 20-30 people. More likely than not you're using new accounts with no reputation built into them and probably with a suspect proxy. You buy proxies and they tell you it's perfectly safe, but the FACT is that you don't know who has used it before you. Also, are you using an american proxy(example) and following indians? They do account to that too. There are many variables you aren't aware of. But the reality is that spammers are rather obvious 99% of the time, so it's pretty easy for them to determine whether or not you are a genuine user following people for genuine reasons.

So, SM marketing isn't dead at all, but it has changed and now it requires brains and quality work instead of just "UhhUhh, i'm following you, now click this link for no reason at all".

Modern IM is highly targeted, organic and sneaky. It's all about quality. It's all about being a regular user that's just posting quality content. It's all about people liking you. It's all about actually helping people. If you you can't provide none of these things(and most can't), then yeah, it's dead, but for you. And that's a good thing, cause if you're a good player you don't want the environment more polluted than already is.

Let me remind you things are tough now because of obvious spammers. People trashed the environment so hard that rigid safety measures had to be put into place. Now people are mad their low effort marketing is no longer tolerated.

You’re using old technique. It doesn’t work anymore. Social media still does and will do its thing for years

Yeah bro, it still works, but not with follow/unfollow anymore. Platforms see that as spam. These days it’s more about steady posting, real interactions, and letting the right audience find you.

yes ofcourse social media marketing still works it rather depends on how you use it.

Rules have changed. Platforms are way stricter now so the old follow/unfollow methods usually trigger limits fast. What works is looking organic and warming up accounts slowly by mixing real engagement with content people actually interact with and avoid repeating the same patterns across accs.

From my experience:
  • Limits are much tighter now. Following 20–30 people back-to-back in a short window can look automated. Platforms don’t like sudden patterns, even if you’re just doing it manually. I’ve had better results spacing things out and mixing actions (likes, comments, reels, etc.) instead of hammering follow buttons.
  • Content carries more weight. Organic growth from reels, shorts, and engagement-based posts is still strong. When I switched focus from aggressive following to just dropping 1–2 reels daily (with solid hooks), reach was much healthier and accounts stayed safe.
  • Warmup is underrated. New or inactive accounts need a “settling in” period. Browsing, interacting slowly, and looking natural for a week or two before pushing harder has saved me from bans multiple times.
  • Yes, it works. I’ve grown accounts recently without paid boosts, but it’s slower and more about consistency + avoiding triggers. If you treat the account like a real person would, you won’t get clipped as easily.
So yeah — the game changed, but people are still pulling results. It’s just less about brute force and more about blending in with the algo.
ok chat gpt

The restrictions are getting stricter, but they're still working

The algo has changed and the rules of the game have changed. Look at how many clone accounts there are dude

It depends on account. If you are using a new account then you have to start slow.

It’s not dead, but old tricks like mass following don’t cut it anymore. You need more natural approach to avoid getting slapped with limits such as long aged accounts and high quality posts.

Social media marketing is alive, but mass following is outdated. Real growth now comes more from content quality, engagement, ads.

Of course it does, there are thousands of people using such services every day. It still works and I think it's the fastest way to grow all your social media accounts

This is the reason why many agencies are posting Reels and short form content. They tend to get good exposure and people tend to watch those videos more often.

Yes works good, just be careful with following multiple people within the day. more on engagement.

I have grown social media accounts for some clients before, and they are happy with the results, saying it helped their business. So from my personal experience, it still works, you just have to be careful. As the other people have said, you should avoid spammy behavior. That includes following people and then quickly unfollowing them. There should be balance between your followers and following. Following many people in quick succession also raises a flag.

Yes, social media marketing is still very effective, but to be successful you need to create engaging content, run targeted ads, and build a loyal community, rather than just posting sales pitches.

Social media marketing isnt dead. Just find the right method. Once goes viral your sales wiĺl hit the high orders

The answer isn’t a simple yes or no. While oversaturated feeds and ad fatigue have made it harder to grab attention, social media marketing still works—when done right.
Brands that focus on authenticity (not just sales pitches) and targeted content (tailored to specific audiences’ needs) see results: higher engagement, brand loyalty, and even conversions. For example, small businesses use local social media groups to connect with nearby customers, while bigger brands leverage user-generated content to build trust.
That said, it requires adaptability. Platforms change algorithms often, so strategies that worked a year ago might fail now. Marketers need to prioritize data—tracking what resonates, testing new formats (like short videos or live streams), and avoiding "one-size-fits-all" approaches. In short, social media marketing hasn’t died; it’s evolved—and brands that evolve with it will still benefit.

Depends on your end goal, but generally yes!
