Does Smart Bidding Need Clean Conversion Data?

I recently took over an account where conversion tracking had issues for a long time, including duplicate conversions and incorrect tracking setups.

After cleaning everything up and switching to Target CPA, performance dropped for a while instead of improving. It’s slowly recovering, but still not at the previous level.

Curious if anyone has experienced this after fixing conversion data. Does Smart Bidding need time to adjust after major tracking changes, and how long did it take for your campaigns to stabilize?

right, strategic bidding does take some time to adjust after any significant shift in the conversion signal. I have experienced that in campaign where signal were deleted.

Yes, this can happen. Smart Bidding needs some time to learn again after big tracking changes. I would give it a few weeks before judging the results.

You're right. Previously, the system relied on incorrect (or partially correct) data. Now you've changed these settings. Perhaps you shouldn't have even used conversion optimization right away, but rather let the account accumulate accurate statistics first. But in any case, it will take time to learn. How long? It depends on your conversion volume. The more conversions you get daily, the faster it will reach the required number for optimization. Also, the learning phase itself, depending on the type of advertising campaign, takes between 2 and 6 weeks

yes i think that's normal. smart bidding needs time to learn from the new data because in my experience it can take a couple of weeks before performance becomes stable again.
