Does site structure help new websites rank?

I’ve recently launched a new website and it currently has very low authority with almost no backlinks. I’m trying to figure out whether focusing on improving site structure and connecting related pages can actually help rankings in the early stage.
Some people say it helps search engines understand the website better, while others claim it doesn’t make much difference without strong backlinks.
For those who have tested this on fresh domains, did you notice any real improvement?

Yes, proper site structure and internal linking help search engines crawl and understand your content faster, especially on new sites. It won’t replace backlinks, but it gives a solid early foundation.

Yes, its help early on better structure + internal links improve crawling and indexing. But to rank, you'll still need backlinks.

Website structure is only a contributing factor in optimizing a site for search engines; it is not sufficient on its own to improve rankings. Focusing on high-quality content and optimizing internal links is the key to achieving better rankings.
 
As a beginner, I have seen internal linking does help a bit on new sites. It won't replace backlinks, but it helps google understand your content and can give small ranking improvements early on.
 
From what I see, it does help a bit in early stage. Good structure and internal linking makes pages easier to crawl and understand. It won’t replace backlinks, but it gives better base.I think small improvement comes from this, then backlinks push it more later.
 
yes site structure helps new sites a lot, even without backlinks, because google can crawl and understand your pages better, good internal linking pass authority between pages and helps important pages rank faster, it wont replace backlinks but it can give early boost and make indexing easier, so i would say do both but fix structure first before anything else.

From what i have seen , fixing site structure and linking related pages does help a bit , especially early on . It makes it easier for search engines to crawl and understand what pages are about it . It would not replace backlinks , but it can give you a small push . I would say it is worth doing alongside everything else.
