does short articles/ posts works?

Is there an optimal number of words for blog articles to rank?

Your article must be informative. You need 800+ words unique content with good quality.

does short articles/ posts works?

posts like 400-600 words with good proper seo and all , do you guys think it till work or not ??

Definitely it will work dude but you need to create a unique and high quality content.

Yes it Works Perfectly fine if you are writing something related to what is in your title

You should write in the vicinity of 800+ words of new content for the MAIN articles on your site, and consider them your anchor content. A few other articles can be 'satellite' artcles that are half the length, and everything else can be a little as 100 word posts with 'dwell bait' (an image or embedded video, etc), i.e., elements that can keep viewers on the page longer. Whatever, the point is not every post has to have long blocks of text on it.

yeah, it's working. You can write 500 - 800 words and you should use unique content or Copyscape passed content.

If the topic can be covered sufficiently in 400 - 600 words, yes it could work. And by work I'm assuming you mean it could rank. Although you should probably limit this for long tail keywords and your inner pages, rather than for pillar articles obviously.

I would aim a bit higher though, as content marketing becomes a mainstream thing, people are putting out content by the dozens so why not make it at least a 1000 words to stay competitive?

With practice, you could spit out a 1000 word article in under an hour. With four or five subheadings within the article about 250 words each would give you a thousand words, and that doesn't include the introduction and conclusion.

could definitely work, but depends on so many aspects
