Yes it works unless you are not providing random sht or copied sht .
If you are providing useful information related to what you are writing about it works :)
 
Short article will not work these days because there is chance that google will penalize your site for thin content. First analyze your competitor and post better content in your site. You should post 500+ words article in your website.
 
hell yeah! it will work just fine, usually you need 1000 words per article, unique content and you can include SEO

It depends on many factors, it's not just the word count that matters, although it definitely helps with SEO. Try making original and quality content for your niche + build links to it.
 
The best way to go IMHO is to research your top 3 competitors. If they average at 300 words, writing 1500 words article can be an overkill and seem unnatural to Google. I always try to be a bit better than the competition. So if they use 500 words, id'e go up 50% more, use more images, videos etc. I don't think there are strict rules about it, just common sense. Google will never punish you for posting 300-400 words article if it's unique. Worse case, you'll just have to work harder to rank it.
 
Yes it could work. I believe you need to have a variety of lengths. I also agree with the guides as those go over really well.
 
I've had 30 word blog posts rank for very specific search terms. I have a few images ranking #1 on big G for a 5 word search term right now and a no more than 15 word blog w/a link on page one for the same phrase. The odd things is, these are 1-1.5 year old blogs and images. Might be ranking because I changed SEO plugins? So yes, short blogs still work, just depends on what you're targeting. For me it's open houses and houses for sale in a specific tract where I had listings.
 
If they are low competition then yes, but you want to look at the search intent for the keywords you want to rank for and access if any other short articles are ranking highly.

I always aim for 500 to 900 words. I always try to give directly the information to the visitor. And for now it seems so far so good.
