Does Scraping Another Website For Content Boost Or Lower PageRank?

Does scraping another website to add a bunch of quality content to your own website boost your SERP by making your website bigger or does it lower it for duplicate content?

Also, is duplicate content ignored in google search results?

Scraping wont give you "quality" content. Duplicate content isn't really ignored but it wont give your site authority.

If you want to see an example of duplicate content being indexed, grab any article from ezinearticles.com and copy the first sentence and paste it into google with quotes. You'll see thousands of results for the same article. All those sites are indexed but if you were to search for keywords related to that article there's a good chance almost none of those sites will show up.

you can get indexed and ranked on Google with duplicate content, but google will hate your site for it, and will rank you below anyone with original stuff.

Quality ranks your site by putting duplicate content google can read that it's copy pasted and it's not quality they look for in a website to give them some boost in SERP or ranking.

so copy paste then rewrite them properly before posting to your site.
