I see many creators replying to comments on their videos does this actually help a channel grow or is it mainly just for interacting with viewers?

Research a few competitors before starting content. It helps find topics that are already getting traffic.

Based on my observations, it has a minimal effect. Engagement with the content has a much greater impact.

Yes it helps to engage with your prospective audience/community because it shows people that you care.
 
Replying to real questions is worth doing because it gives viewers a reason to keep the conversation going.

Replying to comments is mainly good for keeping viewers engaged. It can also help build a stronger audience over time.
 
I think it is mainly meant for building a better connection with the audience even if it does not contribute towards increasing the rank of the video at least it would ensure responses from people.

yes it does help but only indirectly. answering comments will foster a relationship between you and your audience nd motivate them to visit or make comments. however i would not expect that answering comments will impprove ur rankings bcz the content is of higher importance.
 
Engagement is a ranking factor on YouTube which is why creators interact in the comments. The key so to not close down a conversation but extended it. That way you get more comments than just saying thanks.

There are more important factors in the YouTube algorithm but it is one.

Another benefit you get is social proof. More comments looks like the video is worth watching
 
If you want to build a community thzen yes, if not not much

It is certainly helpful. pinning the question and hearting the best responses will quickly increases the number of comments and will definitely tells the algorithm that you have engaged the video.

It is more beneficial for community building than for rankings in my opinion. A proper response will turns one comment into an on going conversation which in turn could attracts people to the channel.
 
It definitely helps with engagement since it gets viewers to interact more and makes them feel noticed. It can support growth over time, but i wouldn't rely on comments alone tbh.

The greatest value of responding to comments is community building; interacting with viewers through positive comments increases the likelihood of them returning, indirectly helping the channel grow.

Hey! Replying to comments can help a channel grow, but mostly indirectly. It builds engagement and encourages viewers to come back and interact more. However, it’s not a major ranking factor- CTR, watch time, retention, and viewer satisfaction are much more important
 
not much for actual growth imo. replying to comments probably won't make a huge difference to the numbers, but it does help you get closer to your viewers and makes the channel feel more personal. people remember that kind of thing.
