Does reddit still buffer media poorly?

I need to upload a video to reddit and I’m debating whether I should host it directly on reddit, or do a youtube embed.

I personally have no issues with reddit videos.

They are buffering poorly on mobile in my experience, their mobile app isn't the best.

Haven't had issues with desktop/web reddit though.

its never gonna be quality due to there high foot traffic rate .
