It works as there has been no API changes.
But you may face issues as significant chnages has happened here and there. If you can tolerate the changes then you will feel happy.

I don't know Python, so I looked into praw alternatives for JS. The JS reddit scraper project with the most stars on Github is called snoowrap https://github.com/not-an-aardvark/snoowrap, and I can vouch it does work. Admittedly, though I have seen it work, it was briefly and only in testing. And I also have to say it's not maintained and updated as often as praw.
