In My Point Of view Yes Real Guest posting is still effective in 2025, even after Google's core updates but only if done correctly.
Google’s updates, including the Helpful Content Update (HCU) and Spam Updates, target low quality, manipulative guest posts that exist solely for link building.
However, genuine, high-quality guest posts that provide real value to readers remain a powerful strategy For Ranking a Website!

If your focus is on value driven content, natural backlinks, and audience engagement, guest posting remains a powerful SEO & branding! What Do You Guys Think! Is Real Guest Posting is Worth Enough for Driving Organic Traffic?

Yes, real guest posts still work in 2025, but only if they’re high-quality, niche-relevant, and placed on authority sites. Spammy or low-value guest posts won’t help and may get penalized. Focus on quality content, natural backlinks, and trusted websites for the best SEO results!

Of course, but all this talk about high-quality guest posts is deceit. You can open sites with average competition in Google and look at their backlinks, select guest posts from them. And there will be 100 guest posts - 5-10 topics on which they are written. This is what I mean, the content cannot be high-quality when you write on the same topic for the tenth or twentieth time. At the same time, inventing topics is also a bad idea, since there may be no traffic on these topics. And most importantly, if you write a lot of guest posts on one topic, then you can rise in AI chatbots, since your title in the article contains requests from AI chatbots. I'm talking about guest posts with ratings, where your tool or company is in first place in the article.

You bring up an interesting point many guest posts tend to be repetitive, covering the same topics over and over. This happens because SEO-driven guest posting focuses on ranking rather than user value.
Sites accept guest posts for backlinks, leading to similar content across multiple domains.
Writers optimize for search volume, limiting creativity in topic selection.
But you're also right about the AI Chatbot angle. The more a brand appears in guest post rankings, tool lists, and comparison articles, the higher its visibility in AI generated responses. and Finally write for AI as much as for humans. That’s where the game is heading!

Yes, another interesting observation, if you remove purchased articles and links from competitors' backlinks, the topics will not become more original, it's all the same, all sorts of ratings, reviews and comparisons. This is all because people request the same key phrases, and other people write titles and articles for these key phrases. Each topic has a pool of 5-10 information requests that generate 80% of all traffic, and because of this, all natural links, articles with them, are also repeated.

Aren't the exact kind of link you should get according to Google?

At least, Google doesn't call them 'guest posts'. The industry did. If links are still viable, guest posts on relevant sites that are themselves doing well on search, would still be viable and useful.

As long as the guest post is genuinely helpful, aligns with the host site's audience, and isn't just a glorified backlink drop, it's still gold in 2025.


Google’s updates are just cleaning up the junk—those spammy, low-effort posts with zero value. But if you're offering insightful, well-written content that actually helps readers and builds credibility, you're not just earning a backlink—you're building a brand.


Personally, I've seen solid traffic spikes and even long-term referral traffic from well-placed guest posts. Bonus if the site has an engaged community or shares your post on socials.


Bottom line: Guest posting isn’t dead… lazy guest posting is.

You're absolutely right! Google never explicitly called them "guest posts the industry coined the term. What Google emphasizes is getting links naturally from high-quality, relevant sources.
