I've seen many still worrying heavily about matching proxies exactly to the city of the account.
From our testing, exact city matching seems less critical than consistent ASN and region matching.

Here's what we found:
  • Accounts running on consistent ISP/ASN but slightly different cities perform just as well.
  • Platforms (Google, FB, IG) care more about stable IP fingerprint (TTL/MTU, ASN) and ISP reputation.
  • Precise city-level matching mostly matters if the account behavior is heavily tied to local actions (local ads, reviews).
In short: ISP + Region consistency > Exact city match.

We’ve seen both high-performance and disaster scenarios on all types of proxies - and 9 times out of 10, it came down to user behavior, fingerprint handling, and network hygiene, not just the proxy type.

Since I'm a big fan of networking technologies in general, I want to add something :)

Actually, IP geolocation isn't that straightforward.
Big IP owners, whether mobile carriers or ISPs, are quite actively balancing their available IPs across different locations depending on business needs.
So the same IP that's used in New York today might be used in Washington tomorrow(!).

With some regularity (from days to months!!) IP owner companies submit this info to regulatory bodies -- registries. With some other regularity, this information gets updated in various databases that Facebook and TikTok use to determine IP geo.

Reality is that determining city by IP is NOT 100% accurate (more like 50-90% accuracy) and all players know this. That's exactly why city fluctuations won't play a decisive role in bans.

personally i would have said having matching country matters more
