PR isn't everything. My new site ranks above PR5 sites.
Does PR matter?

I guess that is because these PR5 sites are weak in the other departments such as on-page seo, intitle tags, number of backlinks, etc...
I think PR is not everything but adds weight to the authority of a site.
In a competitive market a higher PR may be the only thing left to get someones site into the top 10.
Thats what i think... i'm not a seo pro... yet....

PR is how many quality backlinks are pointing to your site.
Wow, this sparked an interesting debate, still not too sure how important it is, but if the only way to raise it is by getting high PR backlinks then I guess thats what Ill have to do

I tried linkvana, and they only stay on their high pr site for a day, and then move to pages with no pr, so it seems fairly useless

I have seen some sites with lower PR rank higher than ones with higher PR (my site has a PR of 3 and my competitor's has a PR of 4) but having a greater PR means that Google likes that site more and that there are a decent number of backlinks coming to the site from other sites with high PR.
