Say if you are building links through the buffer sites and these buffers eventually get penalized (not deindexed) do you still get same power of link juice flowing to your site as before?

id like to know this as well..
edit:
done some research and most of them said "DON'T Pass link juice from penalized domains, target domain will get penalized for sure"

so i guess just forget about the penalized domain.

What i have seen from my research. I had one domain which was doing well in SERPs and was on first 3 results for all its target keywords. They were for sure over optimksed onpage and offpage, so i was waiting on a penalty. When penalty happened and it lost all its rankings i just moved the content to a new domain which was an expired domain with good metrics. I redirected the old domain to the new domain. New domain gained all the spots that the old domain was ranking and stayed on those rankings for atleast 3 months or so before dropping out. So, to conclude, if you are using this on churn and burn it will work but for long term projects it is better to avoid it.

I don't believe target site will get penalty if linked from penalized domain. Backlinks themselves don't pass penalty as far as i know.

No I will use the next trick to get my site good in Google,Many solutions out there.

That would be stupid :) You could use that kind of website to pass penalty on your competition ;)

Question is not if backlink from penalized site pass penalty, but if it passes good link juice... anyone tested this?

what kind of penalty?
manual or algo?
if manual im 100% sure link juice will not pass but the penalty will pass to new domain if old domain and new domain is 100% the same ( tried and tested by me)

if ALGO link juice will pass but sometimes it takes time for the juice to pass, penalty may pass too if you are not doing it right

incase of buffer site,
link juice will still pass i think, because i have some penalty domain in the past google still visiting my website
link juice is passed when google see the backlinks right?
so if google are not visiting your buffer site anymore , theres a big chance that link juice will not pass anymore ( but in most cases this not happen)

If Google is saying "Wait, this site is doing shady stuff" I doubt they give it any voting rights (passing on link juice).

So that's a no. Good point raised there though - a lot of people just spam their buffers and never track how tthey do in the rankings.

I agree with this. But deindexation is totally different from penalty.
