Does PayPal take mastercard?

I know this sounds like a very weird question, but I once had trouble making a payment thru paypal gateway with my mastercard (even tho PP stated that they accept Visa/Mastercard).

it stated something like 'this seller doesnt take mastercard, please use another method of payment" (not exact words, but something along those lines).

Is there an issue with the card, or is it because of the seller not taking mastercard payment in this case?

Please advise. Thanks

Well i know they work, i know its stated in their payment form page / policy.
But for some reason, i seem to experience some issues with mastercard lately. That is why I am wondering if anyone is experiencing the game?

Please advise. Thanks

I believe depending on the item, it wont work. I"ve herd that Mastercard has strict rules on certain high risk items such as supplements / steroids... Are you trying to purchase something along those lines? But besides that I dont see why it wouldnt work unless funds are not available

Visa / Delta / Electron
MasterCard / Eurocard
PayPal Top Up Card
Maestro
American Express
Debit cards (also known as bank cards) are accepted if they have a Visa or MasterCard logo.

Is it a prepaid card? Maybe that's why it wont go through?
