If you are selling and in the US, they will need a SSN or tax id if you reach 200 transaction and $20,000 in sales. They usually ask for it around the $10,000 mark.

do u mean they will NOT ask for SS# unless after i reach $20,000 limit.
(I am thinking of making stealth paypal and i dont have SS# )

No, just make sure you start off slow and not get silly with pulling in 1000 bucks a week.
and also, no high risk items

When they limited my PayPal last time, they asked me for my photo ID, tax ID, ssn and other BS I couldn't provide because I'm underage and I put my own name in there..
Now I made a new PayPal with my parents name, is that a good idea? How do I overcome being limited in my new PP?

sure if you had made a legit account under your parents name you are all good. if you account ever gets limited you will be able to provide all the info they will require. My stituation is different... i am planning on going stealth and needed to know if i need a ss# ........

After the amounts reported above (transactions or money earned) they will require a SSN (for US PayPal accounts). For others, they'll just require a photo of ID card, utility bill and stuff like that.

They usually ask it for it before the $20,000. I got hit with it at the 13k mark. They will keep asking for it and then limit your account.

Paypal has to have the SSN/ITIN for their records if you are US person. The IRS changed a rules and Paypal's response is to get the number for everyone.

As for proof of ID and address, something else is wrong--such as they believe you are under 18 or a scammer.

So let me get this straight, just because I want to get in good terms with PayPal..
In a certain point of your PayPal account (I heard once you hit $15k-$20k in transactions), they will request you to give them your SSN, matching the account name. Is this correct? Will they just request you type in the SSN or will they need you to take a photo?

Also, if they suspect you as underage (18-), they will request a proof of ID and address, correct? You'll have to take a photo and digitally send it to them. Right?

Please clarify :) Thanks so much!
