Does Pagespeed Factor Losing Its Importance?

Internet speed and infrastructure is growing day to day. So how about its affect on page speed optimization. I think page speed opt. losing its improtance. Because at the one point Internet speed will be huge and it does not need to you to optimize your webpage. What about your opinions. Best regards.

Pagespeed is important.

If someone visits your site and 5 seconds later the sites not open, they will leave.

Google have also said it's an important factor in their eyes too, for the users experience while visiting a site.
 
Ye it is important, hosts today almost always provide good speed but most important thing is that code is good, images and all that stuff. You need to play with it to get good results, like always.
 
Yes, it must important. The higher your site speed. Your site will be brought to Google.
 
Google crawler goes through every page of you website and save the speed of each page.Google won't rank your slow speed page in serp.You can use google page speed checker for it and would suggest you to optimize (if needed).
 
I work at a Unicorn startup. Just in January, we changed our hosting to AWS which significantly increased page speed. I could see a significant increase in traffic.
 
I think it is as important as ever, I have experienced improvement in SERPs just by improving the load times of my sites and it makes all the sense in the world since page speed is a very important part the user's experience.

IF anything it will get worse. As the infrastructure grows to handle faster speeds and data so will the demand to receive content and media faster... So yes speed will always be a thing. If nothing else the development of the internet is the perfect example...
 
I rank multiple keywords at 1st and my pagespeed for those pages shows 53.
 
It is all about UX/UI these days and for many years to come.

In fact, i am going to venture on guessing to say the 3 most important ranking factors are...
  • Relevancy (How effectively you satisfy user´s search intent)
  • UX/UI
  • Linkbuilding

I think so. That is what I am trying to say. IT IS UX ERA. Internet speed is already huge nowadays. So page speed opt. is getting useless. Users(especially new generations) want godlike UX and they want to feel unique when they on the page.
 
A user's Internet speed does not necessarily have anything to do with the speed of your site. If your server is slow, your users will get a slow response regardless of whether they have a 1'000mbps or a 500kbps connection.

100% agree with this.

I live in a country (Venezuela) that according to a ranking recently published by speedtest.net we are next to last among the fastest internet connections in the world.

Just behind i country i didn´t know existed.

If that was the case, i would be pretty much doom to fail.
 
Yes it is an vital factor. It is an On Page Seo. This helps in increasing the visitors choice to stay on your page.

So optimise it to improve your site performance

The loading time differs per visitor. One visitor has a fast laptop with a fast internet connection, while another visitor has poor reach with his or her smartphone at that time.
