I have a keyword and its .com name is already sniffed away :( . But .org and .net sites are available. is it make a difference for SEO or i just can use .net or .org with the same effect as .com site.

I don't think it will, but you should come up with a new domain name though.

When it comes to what people trust most it's still .com .org and .net

That's true, however it has been said that people don't usually go to domains directly anymore. Instead most traffic is spread by the means of sharing links (through emails, social media, etc).

So I'd say the dot whatever, is merely a personal feeling, but it's not the underlining factor of your ranking.

Get the .org, move on with your project.

Are you going for an EMD ?
Can you add an 'S' to the end and make it a plural and still get the .com ?

TLDs don't matter a jot for seo, it's the trust people perceive in them, so a Com looks better than a .XYZ as you never see Amazon, Tesco, IBM using .xyz etc

Wouldn't matter in their case because those are all old companies with lengthy histories to their domain names.

Is it optimal to have the coveted .com, .net, or .org? Yea. But is it going to be the detriment to your website's success?, I think not.

The OP should focus on great content and promoting the site in efficient ways.

This.

Only SEO benefits I've heard of from TLDs are:
  • Geotargeted TLDs for regional searches (.us, .co.uk, .ru, etc.)
  • Weird TLDs potentially can be used for weird exact/partial match domains. For example, if buycheapdog.com is taken, buycheap.dog would be an alternate exact match domain for "buy cheap dog."
Haven't tested either of those personally. Probably both true.

For branding purposes, the .com is always the preferred as that is the most likely domain extension that would come into mind, when referring to a website. It's unlikely hey it's something.net - but always on the mind - something.com. Also, do not include any hypen in between, as it's difficult to incorporate that into your branding. Furthermore, with mobile usage on the rise, do you know that some keyboard on the mobile, does not come with the hyphen? Or at least the hyphen is hidden.
But for EMDs (and not branding), then the extension doesn't matter - it can be .com, .net or whatever. The .com extension used to command a lot of weight for EMDs, but with tweaks here and there, the search engines have diluted this significantly, and it is more to authority, user engagement, etc.
If for SEO/EMDs, then getting an exact match domain with country level extension - this appears to command a little more weight for locally searched keywords instead, using a local IP when performing the search.

Yes i am actually going for a EMD . It looks wired with plural though because it looks awkward.

So basically i have to consider either branding or using a country level extension for EMD. But i think i should think more about branding than EMD i assume

It really depends on your niche and future plans.

An example I use is in the UK there's a chemist chain of stores ( pharmacy to the Americans ) called Boots.
They were always branded as Boots The Chemists.

As they diversified into other product niches, they dropped the last couple of words and are now known as Boots.

If you're wanting a generic same niche / product type site, an EMD will work fine.
Wanting something more meaty then go for a brandable name.

It doesn't matter in the perspective of SEO as people mostly don't visit websites from the address bar. But in terms of branding may be it matters. So as to digress, for instance, x.com was the name of the company itself if you have heard of it.
".com" is usually the preferred choice if it is a general website.

Still, general population finds it to be of more credibility and authenticity. Many organization if started with some other TLD, buys off .com once they can afford to purchase it.

my site is mainly created for amazon affiliate . So branding is probably important .
