Hi All,

I read some where that if you don't have Google Analytics that Google can't track certain things like traffic and bounce rates and that this could have a negative affect for Google rankings? Any truth to this?

That would definitely make sense. Ofcourse google likes more if you use their software. i don't think there is a huge difference(like 1st or 65th page), but some is. I mean, why not use it? It's very useful so I wouldn't risk removing it.

It helps. Not much, but it does help. Google will give you slightly more trust if you use their software.

I think yandex metrika is much better, and this is why Im using it.

Still interested to hear more opinions on the subject

OP, GA should have no effect on rankings either way.

Having said that, I would think twice before installing it on a real BH site.

Hi,

I'm in the middle of testing this. I have a page that was steady at #3 for a few local keywords. Steady for the last 60 days. Results coming in shortly ;-)

I have some rule about this, which doesn't necessarily need to be correct: if you do whitehat and have nothing to hide, use Analytics, otherwise, avoid it if you can. It's Google after all, they didn't just bring a free product for you, for nothing in return :)

I had GA inserted in few sites and did not for few sites, but there is no difference, the worth are same

It doesn't make much of a difference and doesn't affect your ranking in google. If you have a whitehat site then go ahead and install GA, it's quite good. But if you're doing something blackhat then don't ever install GA on it. It might take some time but your site will get penalized (according to my partner, she had bad experience with GA and GWT).

Stupid Alexa time on site and such still calcs in there I say so it could help or harm depending on your user factors... I suspect it just makes it easier for them to kill you off if something in the "standard" assessment of your link patterns and market comparative use does not jive with their algorithms. Tomato Tomoto.

If you are blackhat why feed the beast. I do miss analytics, but clicky has been pretty good to me.
