Does Niche matter in crypto investments?

What is the general consensus for projects that target a particular niche? More importantly what is the investment approach for these kind of projects?

For example, a lot of my friends that are Anime inclined, seem to think investing in projects like RoOLZ is a good idea, and while I recognise the work it's done with decentralised content ownership and even NFTs, I can't shake the feeling that the project or even it's token $GODL is only for a particular market, or is it just me?

It's the same thing I feel for sport tokens and I don't know if the niche matters or if potential should be my yardstick.

Niche definitely matters, especially if you’re dealing with microcaps/memecoins where the meta can change pretty much every hour. If you’re catching launches or launching yourself - finding the right niche is crucial.

I feel their focus on a particular market,makes them unique project like Roolz, for example. As an anime lover, I instantly connected with the project.

The fact that it includes NFTs also sets it apart from other Telegram mini-apps. Plus, their listing is coming up in just three days! I've already deposited my airdrop allocation on Bitget to be eligible for the deposit rewards there.

Absolutely matters I would say gas segment and games segment are going to boom in 2025

always take a look at the community, pages, and fundamentals in order to have a good decision when it comes to crypto investments

Niche projects can do well if they have strong communities and real value, but they can also be limited if the market is too small. With something like RoOLZ, the anime focus is cool, but it might not appeal to a wide audience. The same goes for sport tokens—they’re great for fans but may not have broader appeal.

When investing, I’d look at:

1. Utility: Does it solve a real problem?
2. Community: Is it active and growing?
3. Potential: Can it grow beyond the niche?

These days anything with a cute animal logo tends to go 1000x so I’m not sure.

Concerning Meme Coins, the amount of preparation and "investment" by the dev is important

Is there a domain name?
Is it a real website, not a throw away freebie site?
Does it have ALL the social media accounts?
The cute animal
The cute animal graphics (cheap ? cheezy? well drawn ? by a pro?, more than 1 image)
The cute animal history, lore and backstory
The cute animal front story (what is the story now and moving forward)
Is there a song or jingle?
Is there a comic ?
Is there a cartoon ?
Is there a video ?
Is there a childrens book ?
Is there a physical toy available?
Is the character in a game? Is it available?
Is the childrens book a real color book on Amazon?
Is there logo or graphics merchandise? (TShirt, Hats, Coffee Cup, etc)?
Is there a timeline for the future on the website?
Is it being advertised on reddit, twitter, telegram?
Does it have followers on those sites?
Does it advertise on Dexscreener at least the minimum package
What is the liquidity ?

If all those things look good, then research all the signs of a legit coin and how to avoid rug pulls (Youtube Videos)

If the coin has some or all of these preparations you might have a real coin
