Does Negative SEO Work?

I have a service website (a specific niche, such as lawyers or psychologists, plumbers) and a forum about "opinions of... (lawyers, plumbers, etc..)" .. it's bugging me, since it appears in the first positions.

I need to do something to lower it. So I'm looking for solutions.

I have questions :
Does Negative SEO Work?

They say it doesn't work anymore and even helps your SEO?
What is "Negative SEO"?
Does anyone make or sell the links?
How much is it?

i remember seeing some case studies here. and on other blogs. in short yes it can work. this was a few years ago so things maybe changed. such as these things nseo involves not making much of a difference in ranking anymore.
but a diligent webmaster can work around it, disavow your links, things like that. just adds to their workload. assuming they are knowledgeable in counteracting.
flooding with negative reviews will prob be more efficient and difficult to deal with. but like others say karma is a bitch.
whats price depends on who you hire. u can google negative seo service and dive right in to your homework. i imagine its a lot like looking for regular seo agency. large portion of them are junk. the ones worth their salt easily charge couple grand. assuming u can find one. at that point u may as well go all out and buy ddos service and put doggy bag on their front door.
most ppl will tell you dont bother. instead focus on improving your own seo campaign.

instead of thinking about negative seo, think about doing audit of your own page and figure out what is it about that forum page that is making it rank higher than yours. see what questions they are answering. see how they are addressing user intentions. once you figure these things out, it will be much easier to outrank it.
 
If you are going to Neg SEO, make a business out of it. If you are just trying to punish one website for having great SEO, I would launch multiple brand-niche match domains optimized and push all the crap down.

I've been in N seo wars and no one wins from that, except the next competitor.

Look up all the Online Reputation Management guides and tips on this forum.

Google has gotten pretty good at catching the spammy backlinks blasts so these types of attack are unlikely to influence your ranking even if happen.Most websites are completely from safe negative SEO attacks.
 
You should try to improve your page facts instead do negative SEO to your competitor's page. Imagine that if you do so, you will be at the top. Then your competitor does the same thing to your page and Google will never take it back to SE. So I suggest you to be strong in your site ON-page and OFF page SEO.
 
Your first question is about negative SEO.
You've chosen the wrong career, my dude.
 
Yes, it can work, but you do not need to use it. Just post relevant page of your website in every thread that ranks for those keywords - it should be relevant, and even if you do not outrank it straight away, the users who click on the forum will end ultimately in your site anyway.
 
Try using parasites to rank for those keywords and push the forum down.

If they're talking about your brand directly, publish a similar article yourself. You should easily outrank the forum if it's targeting your brand keyword.
 
Why do u have to destroy someone else's work? just because it is bugging you. Instead of taking the destructive path, try to improve your own business site and beat the competition fair & square...
 
If you're talking about spammy negative backlink blasts, Google is very adept at catching them so it is no longer what it used to be.
 
Instead of investing in negative SEO, you could use it on your own site, which will help in increasing website competitiveness in long run. Focus only on your site.
 
If it didn't work, so many people would not be invoking "Karma" here, they would be thumping their chest "You go and make a million links to a site, we don't care". So you get the idea, but it will not work 100% of the time and still it does your website no good.
 
I think some have misunderstood.

My SEO works well, uploaded several pages to separate the forum from the first positions.
He is not a competitor, he is a person who wants to hurt because he has a mind and uses it to discredit, without knowing anything, he just gets into shit.

There are many people who even think that this would be "Karma", because of all the evil it is doing.

He does his job poorly with FakeNews, and lies about many honest professionals.

What you are looking for is ORM, just secure more branded domains, throw some sites up with content, each with all their own socials/parasites, and push it down.

This is not a negative seo attack on your properties, simply someone saying things on their site that you need to outrank with more things.
