Hi guys, i am dutch and have been asked for a client to help them rank with a .com website about Debtcollection. Now i was wondering does the referring domains tld matter in such a case? So basically do you need .com .net domains to help rank a .com domain? Or will it also work with strong .eu .nl etc referring domains?

It's not about the TLD but about the weight some TLD's bring.

For example .gov and .edu are really trustworthy TLD's so if you get links from those, they usually have more weight than links from others.

It's not about it being the three letters. It's about the institution behind them. So if you get links from a .COM with a good authority, then it is a good link. if you get from trash .com's then it's worth trash.

When I had my first .edu backlink (sexual diseases WS)... man... I couldn't believe it. 80 visitors per day then, close to 10K per day. And a very 'stupid WS' just talking about penis enlargement and dangerous methods for it.

Nope! Just take some weeks blabbing a lot about it on Twitter accounts. A few good backlinks will help as well.

TLD is having nothing to affect ranking.
The Content relevancy and niche competition really matters.

I would recommend using tools like SEMRush to analyze the competition.
Such tools will allow you to study and outrank your competitors based on their SEO practices.

    All the best!
