Google will display about 580px of your title, that should be about 55-60 characters. If any longer than that, google will display "..." for the remain. My question: is my remain title that replaced by "..." useless for googbot as ranking factor? For human's view that for sure is useless.

It may have a visual impact, but this will not have any effect on the ranking of a page. However, following Google recommended length is still essential to improve organic traffic.

Even if your title is cut off, all words in the title are still a ranking factor. Someone from SEO fight club tested this. If I remember right they used 1000s of words in the title and Google was still ranking based on unseen words in the title.

well that's the point I want to know, ranking for the unseen words, but it's 2023 with some big updates, something might change.

It has little to no effect on your rankings. It's one of the smallest SEO things you should think of. Consider making your title more catchy.

According to, Google’s search results it is commonly stated that 60 to 65 characters are the general range of what Google shows in the SERPs.Titles that are longer than that might get shortened or rewritten entirely by Google because the title tag is prominently featured in the SERPs it’s important to get it right to maximize clicks and traffic to the website, here are some additional tips Title tags should be descriptive and concise, Don’t use it for dumping your keywords, Avoid boilerplate, repeated words across multiple pages, Brand home page title describes the purpose of the site.

Google shortens or rewrites 99.9% of title tags over 70 characters long. Because the title tag is prominently featured in the SERPs it's imperative to get it right to maximize clicks and traffic to the website. But, it's wise to keep title tags between 50-60 characters at the finest.

The part of the title tag that gets cut off by Google's display ("...") is not as important for ranking, but it still helps search engines understand what the page is about.

yes, but the length of your title tag can affect how it is displayed in the search engine results pages (SERPs) and how it attracts clicks from potential visitors, this is not a hard rule and there may be exceptions depending on the context and the device used for searching. You should also consider other factors such as keywords, branding, readability and uniqueness when crafting your title tags for SEO.

When Google truncates your title and replaces it with "..." in the search results, it doesn't mean the remainder is useless for the Googlebot. While it may not directly impact ranking, those extra characters can still provide context and relevancy signals to Google. So, even if it's not visible to humans, it can still contribute to how your page is understood and ranked by Google.

but their effectiveness largely depends on how they are used and the context of your content.

The entire title tag is valuable for SEO, but prioritize key information within the first 60 characters to ensure visibility in Google's search results.

You can take advantage of it to arouse customer curiosity .
Everything has a good side if we know how to take advantage of it

I do not think it will have big impact but if you are worried about this, why not shorten the titles before posting so as to remain safe ?
