Does long articles really perform well than short ones

I am still wondering, 500+ articles & 1000+ articles which one performs well, or does Google no longer care about content length...but shouldn't it be more about quality rather than quantity

for content length doesnt . matter all that much. as long as i target the query right shorter content is fine. maybe even better as time goes on

Well ideally anything around 1000 is good, as it helps you to cover the topic nicely. Make the articles interesting, that will help you to reduce your bounce rate which will in turn will improve your ranking and conversion.

Depends on how readable it is..as in how well it is written.
