Over a week ago I completely removed my static website and implemented a wordpress setup instead, I've also started practicing some SEO techniques on it and have began dripping backlinks/citations.

However, for my main keywords my old website URL's are still being listed which of course 404's now.

How long does it usually take for google to update local rankings/websites?

Resubmit your sitemap.xml to webmaster tools. It should help speed things up.

Also, no need to drip the citations. You can get as many as you want as fast as you want.

Local takes longer than regular organic, at least a month.

I disagree.

I wouldn't recommend more than 100 a month.

Always two to three weeks. I have noticed 404s can atay around for along time no matter what the tricks are, do this in webmaster tools do that etc...

If any of the 404s are worthy and have any backlinks you can forward them to anywhere you want like a YouTube vid or all to a homepage somewhere. Do this with .httaccess.

Watch your link building, be safe, it aint like it used to be.

Why did you change the URL structure in the first place?

Definitely should go 301 redirect those 404 URLs.
