Hi, just wondering if linking to niche relevant authority website pages and same niche web content from your website still works?

I may be wrong, but I don't think this does anything for you. It's certainly a good thing to link to authority sites but I doubt it does anything for your rankings.

Ok thanks was just wondering I'm sure it used to be beneficial.

I always link to authorirt fly under the google's radar . if you add more links , content, images and videos it looks like its written for people and not for SEO porpuses

Yes it still work's, Search engine loves authority site and relevency. Fresh content with niche relevency always works in rank improvement.

I often link to authority sites in my niche when my site is brand new. After all, my new site has no ranking and it informs G that I am playing in that space and what have I got to lose.
Once it starts ranking you can remove those links or do what I do which is leave the text but remove the hyperlink.

I always link to relevant authority websites in the niche because that adds value to the page and I'm pretty sure Google takes that into consideration when parsing fresh domains, it certainly doesn't have a negative effect (unless you are linking to your money competition or spamming them everywhere).

Yeah, there is no proof that it will work for SEO, But yeah linking to authority sites is good thing. I normally link to wikipedia.

It can help Google tell what a page is about based on relevance. But you might also consider Schema and GWMT Data Highlighter.
