There are probably other niche professional social networks out there but I'm guessing none of them compare to the scale and reach that LinkedIn operates on. Thoughts?

It could have in the future with Slack, Workplace and also the job sites like Reed, Indeed

They charge $20 for a click, do you really think they got competitors?

I am not into linkedin though.

Yeah, back in the day when I focused on offline business and connections were important, I've been a member on 3-4 similar sites. Remember Ryze and Xing from the top of my head, not sure if they even exist anymore...

Like in many other niches online, the biggest player (with biggest funding) enjoyed all the glory and reward.

Never used it but read their ads work through a bid system with people who also want to reach the same audience as you. Not sure how's that gonna work for for people with low budget.

Thanks for the link. I'm surprised to see Meetup, Twitter, Reddit and Slack made this list :/

They have pretty domination, but its hard place to make it.

Xing is being used mostly by german speakers and companies, so if your target is Germany / Austria then Xing is a must have tool for you. Outside of it it is less competitive comparing to LinkedIn
