Does it worth to pay $100 per month?

A guy promise me he can place my link on a gov domain page but it charge me 100USD monthly.
OBL is around 150, real PR5, 10 years old.

Does it worth to pay?

You will create more value by using that money to advertise your website or business instead and you will also get backlinks as well. Don't be a cashcow for people to milk money...

Absolutely no from me, Check out BST section and you will find some services that will give you backlinks much cheaper than this and which would most probably contain same weight as that .gov does coz it has lot of OBL.....

You could scrape a decent .GOV domain in an hour and put it up yourself - for free - in fact if you spent a day on it youd likely get about 10+ and deep link your site permanently.
People sell entire lists full of EDU's and GOV's for you to put your link on for a few bucks.

As you guessed from all the replies - NO, it is not worth that money, cause you can find better link yourself for free, just search for it

Yes it is...is there is scope to get that you should take that....and As I know, those scopes are rare....

I clarify that it is a backlink placed on the gov domain page.
Why I ask this question is I see many competitors from my niche ranking very good and they all do buying backlinks on domain page. I am surprised by the value of this kind of link building method.

I'd say Yes if the page is homepage.

I would never pay $100 for one generic backlink just because the site is high ranked.

But I would DEFINITELY pay $100 for a banner/link that is on a site with the same content as mine. A few months ago I started a site and payed $25 for a 1 month banner ad that made me more than $10k that month. Use your head. Pick a product, make a site, do the best SEO as you can, but if you can't beat the competition, then join them. Find a cool review site with good traffic and use the Contact page to ask for advertising costs. I was lucky enough to find a guy that just wanted $25 a month, but if you're selling something that's $50 and the site's admin wants $100 a month then you better make sure the site is good enough to get you atleast 2 sales to pay for advertising costs, which should be fairly easy.
