Does it study Excel and VBA still worth?

Around a month ago i decided to focus all my efforts in studying the Excel environment and VBA coding, in order to become freelancer in this field in few months.

I felt inspired and i actually enjoy play with 'em.

But i'm wondering if does it worth to invest my resources in this field, if there's enough demand out there and if it's really possible to sustain myself financially with these skills.

Anyone has experince/knowledge of this market?

No. Study web development instead - PHP, Python, Javascript, HTML + CSS.

do you have any experience in any other programming language?

Especially worth it when you go into the freelance business, lots of companies / corporations are still operating with excel, and will always be due to the the huge microsoft integration they have,
And strong policies for any other application to be used in their companies. (I worked over a decade as a corpo programmer)
While even able to deliver full flex C+ application they would prefer excel sheets who they can edit / modify themselves, hire a second developer to easy pickup the slack might something happen to dev1.
Due to the corona pandami i see a huge increase in excel/vba projects due to the home working policies and the need of automation.

However use the power of Microsoft in general while you are learning to become a all round Microsoft free-lancer. (Cant get enough skilled all-round people in my teams )
Perhaps look also at the high paying services to learn:
PowerBI (This is the future as so many small companies want to grow but dont know how, Data is knowledge, Data is Power, Perhaps design some fancy Continues Improvement Dashboard's)
PowerAPPS (Connecting the whole world of microsoft together with workflows)

Deciding what kind of freelancer you want to become makes picking your learn journey easier

Honestly i left my vba couse incompleted and i decide to move on other stuff.
I quote just that part cause i moved studing BI and the data world.
First of all, it's so freaking fascinating, secondly i feel like with those skills i can definetly have an higher value e probabilities to succeed in the freelancer world.

Yes, I work still in the data field very actively

Nice! Fascination is key in this business as it drives the hours and motivation.

The increase in data interest is already happening since a couple of years, It just changes it form as humanity evolves.
From excel a couple of years ago now into power bi.
learning is that majority of key "payers" are Microsoft focused, contracts are closed for a couple years in advanced.
The IT infrastructure of Microsoft is integrated to deep in most companies.
Microsoft apps is here to stay and to evolve

Just got to be up to date with their releases, they are going ham at the moment with possibilities.

Average on every company we work with we have a bucket list of projects worth over 2 years.

For now i see the need most in translating the data to dummies, translate a table into a dashboard so some vp, director, user can understand the data and get their "own" learning from it.
To stand out from other bi developers is design, mobile friendly, KPI's on the go.
Saas in the form of sharepoint or microsoft teams.
(One can add a powerbi Dashboard in Teams )

Very cool.
For now i decided to start with the fundamentals, statistics, sql, python, data visualization, then i suppose learning the tool it's quite easy once you really understand what are you putting your hands in.

Still relevant. Just to be yourself with knowledge you have. You can be whatever your wish. Learning excel you should have knowledges of powerBI. VBA Stil relevant but you have to improve yourself in coding
