Does it still matter when selecting backlinks.

Before anything else i will take note of relevance rather than DR or DA it would be more practical to use a site with lesser metrics but highly relevant to the niche than one with high metrics yet not relevant the metrics serve the purpose of comparisons only.

I'd still look at DR/DA, but I wouldn't make them the main deciding factor. A relevant site in your niche with real traffic an a natural link can be much more valuable than a high-DR site that has nothing to do with your industry. Relevance + quality + real traffic should come first, metrics are more like to filter.

DA and DR are easily manipulated third-party metrics, so I’d choose a topically relevant site with real organic traffic over a high-DR generic site every single time.
Exactly! I care less about DR/DA and more about being relevant and generating traffic organically. Sometimes, a website with low metrics but actual users may be much more valuable than one with high DR but no visibility at all.

I’d rather have a relevant site with real traffic and a strong topical connection than a high DR site that has nothing to do with my niche.

I’d definitely take relevance into account before looking at DR or DA A smaller site that’s genuinely related to the niche and has real traffic can be a better backlink than a high metric site that has nothing to do with your industry

Have you thought about whether things like DR and DA matter anymore when it comes to selecting backlinks? Would you rather select a link from a site that is not so strong in terms of metrics but is related to your industry.
I had take relevance over raw metrics any day. A DR/DA number can look impressive but a niche relevant link that brings real context and potential traffic is often much more valuable. Metrics are a filter, not the whole decision.

They do not matter much now. Relevance and real traffic of the website are more important.
