If I submit an article or document to a few sites, and include some links in it that are redirected to a sales page with Gocodes, does that still count as a backlink to my site?

Yes, the Gocodes links count - they are 301 redirects, which the search engines have been very clear pass page rank. They don't count as much as a normal link, but it should be close.
