i noticed when posting reels on my iphone 15 they got more views then posting reels on my iphone x,

Do you think this is a factor that ig uses in order to push out ur video more/

my thought was that , they see newer models as less spammy phones, like someone making a phone farm will go with cheapest option possible, so they will use like iphone 12 or lower.

What do utihnk?

I think so It is a matter of timing and quality of the video and content it's not a matter of iPhone

Interesting question! Actually, Instagram (and other platforms) use complex algorithms that can take into account many factors to determine how to promote content.

I know that tiktok prefer Iphone over android but never heard anything about instagram just that using PC to upload content does not perform good at all but either Iphoneor Android should work fine.

are both phones on the same ios update?

Knowing how meta works, it most likely does. Everything, including the amount of words you say each minute have a factor in the success of a good "algorithm"

I’ve never thought about it this way before. It might or might not be true...we may never know for sure. But that’s some smart thinking!

From what I know, this could be a factor for newer accounts, but I don’t think it would have much impact on older accounts that already have a following. However, if you're referring to a brand-new account just starting out, this could definitely play a role.

No, it doesn't.

I don't think so, but maybe Taylor Swift has a different opinion.

Yeah, that actually makes a lot of sense. IG 100% tracks device data, and newer iPhones might have a higher trust score since bot farms usually run older, cheaper phones. IG could see a fresh iPhone 15 as a real user while an iPhone X might look more suspicious. Newer phones run IG smoother, which could boost engagement like watch time. Might not be a huge factor, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Insta gives a slight push to content from newer devices.

You can use tweaks to spoof the iOS & iPhone version seen by Instagram. 3DAppVersionSpoofer by example.

…..it would be more obvious to talk about the iOS version rather than the iPhone model. I mean, an iPhone with the latest updated iOS version is more relevant than the same model running an older iOS version.
