Does Interspire Pixel Tracking Harm Inbox Rates?

Does IEM's pixel tracking harm Gmail/Hotmail/etc. inbox rates?

Because Gmail keeps sending my emails to the spam folder. I'm wondering if the embedded images (pixel tracking) have anything to do with it.

Also:
1. Should I send plain-text emails only or both HTML and plain-text emails?

2. And if I choose the latter, do the HTML and text versions HAVE to match? Is my inbox rate harmed if they don't match?

I believe it's your server's IP or message/title for your email.

I have been inboxing well with Interspire and I'm using HTML emails too.
 
from what I've read (but have no experience in) only 1 or 2 links, plain text.

I see, thanks. I knew my IP was screwing up in some way, because the deliverability was great before. I do prefer the HTML emails because you can customize the links.

Hmm... I guess I should at least try to test plain text emails.
 
Yep, guys. I've checked, and it turns out that my IP address is the problem.

It's the IP.
 
Thought so, use mxtoolbox.com to diagnose your IP issues.

Also there is nothing wrong with HTML emails.. but if you are sending HTML emails I suggest sending plain text message with it. So if email client can read HTML it reads HTML if not then it reads that text.
Make sure your messages match, because if they don't then this can be an issue as well.

when someone receives an email and he is not viewing it in html form it will not be tracked by interspire, so tracking openers is really not that accurate so i am not using it
And when you test your html email and it looks good it doesnt mean it will look good on every email out there some will see it as just broken text

and when it comes to clickers i still don't track them simply because i don't wan't to expose the domain i installed interspire that way if there are any spam complaints only my remote server will get suspended and my entire mailing won't get affected

affiliate companies have their own click stats anyway so why bother
 
yes, in few cases , pixel tracking or html emails do have negative effect on inbox rates, also if most of your emails are marked by spam by the recipients , even if you send a different email to a different set of people , the tracking pixel which remains the same , helps the mail boxes to identify you as a spam source and without any confirmations it sends all your emails to spam folder, the same can be verified by using the same email content without HTML or gif file.

I remember someone running some tests, not with IEM but another self-hosted script. And what they found was that if it was a short message like 'Test' with a tracking pixel, it would get sent to the spam box.

However, if it was longer with more content, it would actually make it into the inbox.

Now I know you found your IP was the reason but when running tests, make sure to use an actual email that's like 150 words or longer.
 
I don't think that the pixel is the problem. We have sent lots of mails with HTML and Interspire.
 
I'd suggest getting a custom coded software suite so you can easily avoid getting detected by spam mechanisms.
 
It's all about your IP reputation,history,sender reputation and what you send.

Interspire is fine. Try it with amazon ses smtp and you will get inbox.So software is not the issue in most cases

Can you tell us a bit more about this?
 
I also don't think HTML is playing any role in this and totally back the idea of having IP reputation, clean list and properly configured infrastructure for deliverability. Still you can diagnose your content for spam words etc.
